Woman owned; family minded
Chez Aletheia is finally coming to life as a childhood dream comes true. Born and raised in a little rural town of my home country (Togo), my parents had a career of getting paid to train farmers all over the country. As children of agricultural engineers, my siblings and I got in the obligation of practicing farming. Each of us were assigned a little portion of our home farm to grow a seasonal vegetable of our choice from which the entire family would be fed. This is something I wasn't excited about nor looked forward to sharing with my school buddies to avoid more of some bully I was already experiencing. Mandatory farming slowly became a passion as I started to learn all the great benefits of growing your own food. 14 years after living in a country place my parents completely relocated to the capital city of the country where there was no more space to grow our own food. I quickly noticed the difference in the quality of food we were feed, regretted and begged our parents to move back to the country area we lived in for many years. What has driven us to reach this moment
Later in life, as a newly married wife longing for the blessing of a child, my husband and I spent nearly 5 years of infertility journey and even used all our small savings toward fertility treatments without any positive outcome.
Few months into deciding to switch from a general basic grocery shop list to a selected organic grocery shop, we found out we are expecting our first child! Keeping up with a weekly premium food grocery shopping list started to weight on us that we decided as a family to start growing our own food.
Over the past five years, we cultivated and shared a diverse range of premium vegetables, unique herbs, and spices with family and friends. Now, fueled by a desire to foster a healthier community, we are excited to launch Chez Aletheia Friendly Market, a woman-owned farming business dedicated to providing organically grown premium vegetables, distinctive herbs, and spices to our local communities. Additionally, we offer simple healthy cooking classes to inspire and promote healthier habits within busy lifestyles. Our goal is for our cherished community to embrace, adopt, and enjoy simple yet healthy habits without breaking the bank.
